You either love them or you don’t, but one thing is certain: with coffee pads you can make a cup of coffee quickly and easily. All you need to do is put the coffee pad into your Senseo machine (for example), let the water heat up and press start. Coffee pads are a kind of filter pouch containing ground coffee. Because hot water is pressed through them at high pressure, the water takes on the flavours and aromas of the ground coffee. The result: a tasty cup of coffee in no time.

What’s in coffee pads?

Coffee pads are filled with ground coffee beans. These beans can be from different coffee types, such as arabica or robusta, or a blend of both. The beans can also come from different origins, such as Central America, Africa or Asia. The ground coffee is compressed and packaged in a filter, usually made of paper or plastic. Some coffee pads may also contain flavour enhancers such as milk and sugar, especially those with cappuccino or latte macchiato flavours.

The flavourful Senseo coffee pads

The most well-known coffee pads (and according to most users also the best) are the Senseo coffee pads from Douwe Egberts. No surprise, since Douwe Egberts is the ‘inventor’ of the coffee pad. Senseo coffee pads are now available in many variations. Like a strong cup of coffee? Then order the Douwe Egberts Senseo strong. Prefer cappuccino? No problem: just order the Douwe Egberts Senseo cappuccino. So whatever your taste, in the extensive coffee pads range at Foods & Goods you’ll always find the Senseo coffee pads that suit you.

Choose decaf coffee pads

Decaf coffee pads are becoming increasingly popular. Senseo decaf coffee pads are so popular because they have the familiar Senseo taste but without the caffeine. Do you get restless from caffeine, have trouble sleeping if you drink coffee in the evening, or want to drink coffee more consciously? Then Senseo decaf coffee pads are the solution for you. The same familiar taste, but caffeine-free.

How long do coffee pads stay good?

The shelf life of coffee pads depends on several factors, such as the type of coffee, the packaging and storage conditions. When stored correctly, in a dry and dark place at room temperature, they are usually good for several months up to a year. It’s important to check whether the packaging is still properly sealed and whether there are any signs of mould or other contamination. If the packaging is damaged, or the coffee pads have an unpleasant odour or taste, it’s best to throw them away and buy new ones.

The best coffee pads!

We often get asked what the best coffee pads are. Because this is mainly a matter of taste, it’s hard to say. One person may find the Senseo regular coffee pads the best, while another prefers the Senseo extra dark coffee pads. At Foods & Goods we only sell Senseo coffee pads. Senseo has proven it makes coffee pads of consistent quality. So far we haven’t found this at other manufacturers. Do you have good suggestions about which coffee pads are the best and which we should definitely add to our range? Contact us and maybe your favourite coffee pads will soon be in our assortment.

How many coffee pads should I use for a cup of coffee?

How many coffee pads you should use depends on the size of the cup you want to make and the strength of coffee you prefer. Many coffee pad machines have a recommended number of coffee pads for one cup, stated in the user manual. If there is no recommendation, then one coffee pad for a normal cup of coffee is usually sufficient. If you want a smaller or larger amount of coffee, you can adjust the number of pads. Keep in mind that more pads will make the coffee stronger.
